Program overview

The Texas Campus Growth & Learning Recovery Program is an IUME Foundation initiative designed to support a limited number of high-need Texas campuses with urgent academic improvement goals.

The program provides selected campuses with access to structured pilots focused on helping students strengthen key academic skills through short, engaging, standards- and curriculum-aligned microlearning activities. The program is intended for campuses seeking practical learning support connected to measurable student engagement, skill practice, and academic growth.

The 2026 program will initially focus on the state of Texas and will prioritize campuses with demonstrated improvement needs, including campuses with low STAAR/EOC performance, prior D/F ratings, targeted intervention needs, or other urgent academic recovery goals.

Purpose

Many campuses are working to close learning gaps while also managing student disengagement, teacher workload, and limited intervention time. IUME Foundation created this program to help schools pilot a structured learning-support model without requiring campuses to take on a large implementation burden.

The goal is to help participating campuses:

  • Provide students with short, focused learning activities tied to specific learning objectives.
  • Support teachers with practical tools for reinforcement, review, and skill recovery.
  • Generate measurable usage and learning-readiness data.
  • Identify whether IUME/Learn can support broader campus improvement efforts.
  • Build evidence that can support future funding, expansion, or district-level adoption. Some piloted campuses will be eligible for additional sponsorship programs to help in their academic improvement goals.

Who should apply

The program is designed for Texas campuses that are actively working on academic improvement and are interested in piloting a structured microlearning solution. Priority may be given to campuses that meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Low STAAR or EOC performance in one or more subject areas.
  • Prior D/F accountability ratings or risk of future low performance.
  • Identified need for targeted academic intervention.
  • High percentage of students needing learning recovery or skill reinforcement.
  • Campus leadership commitment to structured pilot implementation.
  • Availability of teacher champions willing to participate in the pilot process.

What participating campuses receive

Selected campuses may receive:

  • Foundation-sponsored access to advanced, personalized microlearning content and practices aligned with the school curriculum for the pilot period.
  • Support in defining the pilot scope and target student group.
  • Teacher onboarding and implementation guidance.
  • Student-facing microlearning activities aligned to selected academic goals.
  • Usage and engagement reporting.
  • Pre/post pilot measurement support where appropriate.
  • A post-pilot summary report with findings and recommended next steps.

Pilot structure

Each pilot is designed to be structured, manageable, and measurable. A typical pilot may include:

Planning and setup

IUME Foundation works with campus leaders and participating teachers to define the pilot focus, student group, subject area, timeline, and success measures.

Teacher onboarding

Participating teachers receive guidance in a low-burden way for activities such as review, reinforcement, intervention, or independent practice.

Student participation

Students complete short microlearning activities connected to selected learning objectives. Activities are mostly used after class, during advisory or intervention periods, or in other approved campus settings.

Progress monitoring

IUME Foundation and the campus review usage, completion, engagement, and available learning indicators during the pilot period.

Post-pilot review

At the end of the pilot, the campus receives a summary report highlighting implementation results, student engagement, teacher feedback, and recommended next steps.

Measurement and outcomes

The program is designed to generate practical evidence that can help campuses evaluate whether to expand the pilot into a full implementation supporting their improvement goals. Depending on the pilot scope, measurement may include:

  • Student activation and participation.
  • Weekly active usage.
  • Completion of assigned learning activities.
  • Skill-practice volume.
  • Pre/post checks where available.
  • Teacher feedback.
  • Student engagement feedback.
  • Implementation effort and teacher workload.
  • Campus interest in continuation or expansion.

The program does not promise immediate changes in accountability ratings. Instead, it focuses on measurable learning behaviors and skill-practice indicators that can support longer-term academic improvement.

Apply for consideration

IUME Foundation is accepting interest from a limited number of Texas campuses for the 2026 pilot cycle. Schools interested in participating should complete the application form and provide information about campus improvement goals, target student needs, preferred subject areas/grade levels, and available teacher/campus leadership support.
