New initiative will support students in grades 6–9 by helping develop practical skills for engagement, self-management, academic persistence, and classroom success
Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas — July 14th, 2026 — IUME Foundation today announced the development of its Student Readiness, Resilience, and Classroom Success Program, a new initiative focused on helping students build the practical habits, confidence, and learning behaviors needed to succeed in school.
The program will initially focus on students in grades 6–9, with separate student-facing tracks for middle school students in grades 6–8 and 9th grade students transitioning into high school. The Foundation is inviting educators, counselors, SEL specialists, youth-development professionals, instructional coaches, school leaders, and other qualified subject-matter experts to volunteer their expertise in shaping the program.
“Academic recovery is about more than catching up on missed lessons,” said Iyad Jabri, Chairman of IUME Foundation. “Students also need the readiness, resilience, confidence, and classroom habits that allow learning to happen. This program is being developed to help schools support those needs in a practical, age-appropriate, and classroom-friendly way.”
The Student Readiness, Resilience, and Classroom Success Program is being designed to support schools and teachers as they help students strengthen skills such as self-management, responsible decision-making, help-seeking, conflict resolution, academic persistence, focus, confidence after setbacks, and positive classroom engagement.
The program is not intended to provide clinical counseling or therapy. Instead, it will focus on practical learning-readiness and classroom-success skills that can support student engagement and academic growth. The program will also include teacher-facing training and implementation resources to help educators use the materials effectively in real classroom settings.
IUME Foundation is seeking volunteers to help develop three core components:
- Teacher Training Curriculum
Practical professional-development content for teachers working with students in grades 6–9, focused on learning readiness, classroom climate, student engagement, de-escalation, academic persistence, and knowing when to refer students for additional support. - Middle School Student Track: Grades 6–8
Age-appropriate microlearning content designed to help middle school students manage emotions, stay focused, handle peer conflict, ask for help, build study habits, make responsible digital choices, and recover from mistakes. - 9th Grade Student Track
A separate student-facing track focused on the transition into high school, including workload management, attendance, credits, help-seeking, study habits, EOC readiness, peer pressure, and confidence after academic setbacks.
Volunteer contributors may assist with reviewing the program framework, developing lesson topics, advising on age-appropriate scenarios, reviewing teacher-training modules, suggesting classroom implementation strategies, and helping define appropriate boundaries between classroom support and clinical mental health services.
The initiative reflects IUME Foundation’s broader mission to make quality learning more accessible to every child, including disadvantaged students, students who are behind in school, and children who face barriers to meaningful learning opportunities.
“Grades 6–9 are a critical period for student development,” added Mr. Jabri. “Middle school students are building the habits and confidence they need for more advanced learning, and 9th grade is a major transition point that can shape a student’s high school path. We want to bring together educators and experts who understand these challenges and want to help create practical tools schools can use.”
